My grandpa raised me to believe racist's were people who drove fast cars at race tracks.
My 3400 has developed an unusual problem with disconnects. I'll be surfing along just fine and all of a sudden I'm disconnected. The disconnect is not from incoming calls either. What's really interesting is that when I try to reconnect a message window pops up saying there's an error with the Remote side. The message appears when Remote Access is at the "Starting PPP" portion of a connection. I've tried multiple dial-up numbers to my ISP with no luck. If I restart and rebuild the desktop (restarting alone doesn't resolve the remote error message) I'm able to reconnect and everything works fine until I'm once again disconnected with the Remote side error message appearing if I attempt reconnect. I have to continually restart and rebuild and connections seldom last more than 20 minutes. I haven't installed anything (software or plug-in's) on my computer in more than a year so I'm (temporarily) not thinking there's an extension conflict. I've deleted preference files for Remote Access and the Finder with no resolution. Anyone got some idea's to share? Chuck Seattle ps - I found Canada on the map.
