I have a PB3400/200 80MB ram and a 10GB disk... I currently have loaded Netscape 4.5 (It was all I had.) I can't believe how S L O W pages load... I honestly think I could get refreshes quicker on a dialup connection. (I share a Cable Modem connection through a Linksys Router.) My Toshiba P166 w/32MB RAM and a 2GB disk running IE 4 loads pages 3X as fast...
The 3400 was recently reinstalled with a fresh copy of OS8.6. It has very little installed on it at this point... I think just Nissus Writer and Netscape. I'm thinking the slowness could be coming from the version of Netscape I'm using??? Looking at the versions available on the web, I don't know if I want the latest and greatest as thats probably tuned more for OS9 or OSX... Does it matter? Which version is best? At the same time, I also have an official OS9 CD here, and, while there isn't much on my disk... I'm thinking this would be a good time for an upgrade :-) Cheers, Sionnach __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
