God but that brings back a few memories. I have an upgraded QuickTake 100 (which is a retrofitted unit with the EPROMS flashed to make it think it's a 150). I have used it faithfully on my PowerBook 540c for years and the only complaint I have is that the highest resolution is really not as High as I'd like it.
You can use Lithium batteries or strangely enough, rechargable NiCad batteries. There's something quirky in the way the camera draws power and although you can sometimes get regular alkaline batteries to work they sometimes give you cut off frames in your photos and drain very fast. If I had to guess, I'd say that the voltage regulator reacts incorrectly to voltages. Lithium and NiCad batteries are supposed to put our about 1.2 to 1.4 volts per cell. Alkaline put our about 1.4 to 1.6. This may be throwing it off. Strangely enough, the power adaptors for PowerBook 100 series computers power that camera just fine. I think even old Mac Portable chargers work also. I also have software if it is needed and some advise on the use with PowerBooks. Victor -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
