Hello, all. I'm new to powerbooks and to this list,
but I love older Macs. I recently picked up a
Powerbook 520 and I have a couple of silly questions.
I don't have a separate charger. The batteries charge
in the powerbook itself, right? Should the powerbook
be off when charging the batteries? Will 2 charge at
the same time? How long should a full charge of one
battery take when it's almost empty? I think one
battery is completely dead. I tried using Emmpathy
and another utility, but they don't seem to be able to
do anything with the dead battery. Would you suggest
leaving only the dead battery in the powerbook for a
while to see if it might charge? Will leaving the
dead battery in the powerbook while using the good
battery cause the good battery to discharge quickly or
do any damage to the powerbook or good battery? Also,
the screen seems to have some light areas and dark
areas. Is this common with passive matrix displays?
Sorry for the long message and many questions. I'm
trying to get up and running. Thanks everyone.
