I don't know if you can still find the 333MHz Sonnet PB upgrade but it was
night and day for this little guy. I'm so pleased that now I'm spoiled by
the speed and considering bumping it up even more.

The upgrade path on my 1400cs/117 was 1) a new screen, making it a "1400c"
2) upgrading the RAM from 12MB to 60MB 3) installing a videocard to allow
it to drive an external monitor 4) upgrading the CPU from a 117MHz 603 to a
333MHz G3 5) installing a Best Data PC Card 56K modem and a 3Com EtherLink
III Ethernet card 6) upgrading the OS to 9.1 7) new NiMH battery. Total cost
was around $550, and worth every penny; this 1400 has been a very tough
road warrior, and for six weeks when I was on an away rotation, it sufficed
as my "desktop" as well.
