Ok, so I was bored and did some surfing for info on 5300s. (Yeah, I'm on a roll, I know!)
Mac Speed Zon e <http://www.macspeedzone.com/archive/Comparison/NonStandardPB5300.ht ml> has an "article" about a 5300 configured w/ a PowerLogix PowerBoost CPU upgrade. They don't mention much (just some clock speeds and integer and fpu performace specs). But I'm guessing it was a 603e based card that went in the PDS. They say it was a prototype - seems to have never gone into production. A quick Google search didn't find any info about it. Anyone ever seen or heard of these things? I always thought that 5300 processor upgrades were in the realm of "nice idea, neeeeeever gonna happen." Looks like it almost did, though.
