Hey, i can answer this one!

I'm using wireless right now, actually. My Wallstreet II (G3 233) has
a WaveLAN Silver card and is using Apple's AirPort software. Works
great! Install the Apple software, plug in the card, restart, and
presto! AirPort just like on the Lombard/Pismo and iBook!

They work great on my 5300, too! (And, *sigh* my girlfriend's Comcrap
Pressario w/ WinXP)

I would definitely recommend using a WaveLAN
card (Orinoco/Agere/Lucent/whatevertheyarecalledtoday makes it).

The reason I say that is because the AirPort hardware is essentially
rebranded WaveLAN technology. In fact, the AirPort base station
config software even works w/ the Orinoco RG1000s (is that the right
model?) base station! If you open the AirPort base station up, you'll
see a WaveLAN card in there too.

Plus, they're (relatively) cheap. And they have a neat-o little jack
on the side where you can plug in an external Pringles Antenna to
extend your range... Like ME! ;-)

Doing a Google search for Airport, 802.11b, or WiFi will turn up a TON
of info.

Oh yeah, the WaveLAN card works on every model from the 190 on up. On
the 2400/3400 and later, you can use the Apple AirPort software and
forget the Lucent WaveLAN driver software.

Anyone ever use one of these w/ a 5x0? I can't think of a reason why
it wouldn't work... But these machines are pretty finicky, I get
the impression, over how the PC Card cage works, especially w/ the PPC
upgrade in.

Peace,
Drew
