I have been wondering about the Orinoco cards and the PB 540. Perhaps it is a futile thing, like tilting at windmills. I have yet to get the Orinoco v6.04 software to install.
Now I have found www.ioxperts.com who have a Mac driver for multiple wireless cards. They claim that 'PC Card Manager 3.0' is needed for their driver to work. I haven't seen it as software anywhere. Must be a hardware thing. http://www.hermstedt.de/english/hardware/marco.html makes this claim: They claim PBs 520, 540, 190, 5300, 1400 use PC Card Manager 2.0 while PBs 3400, 2400, and the G3s use PC Card Manager 3.0 This might be an issue in trying to get some wireless cards working smoothly. Does anyone know the straight stuff on PC Card Manager hardware? Does anyone know of a PB wireless installer for a PB 540 running 7.55 or 8.1? Should I be looking for a 3400 or a Wallstreet for my silly lil Orinoco Card? Richard -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
