Nils, The 5300 does not have a tappable trackpad.
You have 2 options for obtaining that functionality: 1) ClickPad II control panel - software solution emulates a tappable trackpad and intercepts certain taps on the pad, translating them into clicks. In my experience, this software works unreliably and inconsistently. It works, but not very well. 2) Get the entire trackpad assembly (including cable!!) from a PowerBook 190 series (which HAS a tappable trackpad). This works flawlessly - I'm using it in my 5300ce without any trouble after lots of bungling around w/ ClickPad.
