If the new HD is slim enough, it will fit snugly enough in the old casing that you don't need to worry about drilling new holes. You shouldn't have any problems unless you start treating the computer as a cocktail shaker, or have children who would. During disassembly, remember where the various screws go, since some of them are different lengths and sizes. If you are are a male with large hands and not a great deal of manual dexterity, I think the job would be a nightmare (medium hands and good dexterity here...). I managed to get the old drive out, but after several hours gave up trying to get the new drive in. The pins are delicate and numerous and the drive cable was crammed so far up the casing on the left I was afraid I was going to tear it. Fortunately, I took it in to my Mac dealer and he fixed it right away at no charge (purchased the drive from him). I hope you didn't buy an older model Travelstar. Those drives, though reliable, are quite noisy and every time the heads park, it makes one of those "I am about to die" noises. PS: What is the deal about the non-Apple manual URL's? The Gamba site has been around for years and I doubt if it's going anywhere. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
