Heres my problem: Just bought a used 2400c. Seems to work well, except that it wont recognize my ethernet pc cards. I have a Farallon EtherMac PC card and a MacWireless PC card (non-CardBus wireless card.) When either card is inserted the pc card icon will appear on the desktop, but when I try to select them in the AppleTalk or TCP/IP control panels, I get a message saying to check your network connections. This happened with both OS 8.0 and 9.0. My PC card modem works just fine.
Is this a hardware issue, or is it some sort of driver problem? If this powerbook had been CardBus enabled, would that cause this behavior with older PC cards? (BTW, I dont know if this matters but when I installed OS 9, I had to run the Mac OS Install CD-ROM on my powerbook 1400, with the 2400c running in SCSI Disk mode. Would that have caused the OS Installer to install the wrong version of OS 9, thinking that it was installing it for a 1400, rather than a 2400?) Any thoughts on how to fix this would be very much appreciated. Ted ---------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
