Craig:

Try these things first for me to understand your situation better:

1.    Start from emergency disk (whatever it is called).
2.    Turn off the "virtual RAM"
3.    Boot up regularly again and tell us if the computer will or will not boot up.

Questions:

1.    How much virtual RAM did you set up?
2.    How much built in RAM do you have according to the My Computer window?
3.    How much RAM is required by the program you want to start?
