Greetings All:

I recently acquired a PB 190 that I'm gradually maximizing as a
backup to my 6320.

After a month of use a strange anomaly has occurred in the form of
thin vertical comb-like lines spaced about 5mm from another across
the full width of the screen and extending up almost exactly half the
height of the screen. Earlier it was an infrequent occurrence that I
cured when I discovered that zapping the PROM was enough to rid of it
but now it's become persistent and annoying. It's most prominent in
full color mode and almost invisible in 16 gray mode. I think it
usually occurred before when I actually turn off the PB 190 because I
rarely do, as I usually just let it sleep. Now it's not going away
any more, zapping or not.

I used TechTools Deluxe to analyze the RAM and VRAM and no go. If it
means anything I expanded the original 8 megs with an additional 16
megs and I use Ram Double as well but RD was disengaged during
testing. Is this a loose memory chip problem or such even though
TechTools doesn't indicate it? I don't want to crack the machine open
unless I really have to.

Thanks!

JimWG
