Hi all,

today, I have tried to connect my 5300c (System 7.6) and my brother's
iMac (Revision A, System 9.2) via infrared, as both should have it
onboard, as far as my knowledge goes. Despite the fact, however, that
I have configured AppleTalk accordingly and aligned both machines
with the infrared interface facing each other, nothing happened. I
was not able to choose one of the machines in the other's chooser. Or
might it be the case that their respective infrared protocol is not
compatible to each other? Has anybody succeeded in establishing such
a connection? Which speed can be expected?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

The 5300s IR is limited to IRTalk which is not compatible with IRDa
which latter models use.
