That is likely the Interconnect cable.  It goes between the 
motherboard and display.  It is a .025" pitch ribbon cable a few 
inches long.  The wires inside the cable break so repairing it is 
dicey.  I was able to find some .025" pitch ribbon cable and replace 
the cable using the original connectors.  If you are familiar with 
IDC connectors it isn't to hard to do.

www.powerbookguy.com comes to mind.  There are some others I've come 
across.  Try doing a Google search on "PowerBook XXX used" where XXX 
is the model number you are interested in.
