Here's the result of further experimentation: When I press the power key while holding the Shift-FN-Cntrl keys, nothing happens till I release one or more of those keys. Then the green light and the fan go on for less than a second. Pressing the power button by itself does nothing, whether I wait for a second or five or ten seconds. However, if I release and immediately re-press the power key while holding down the others, the fan stays on for as long as I hold down all four keys. But nothing else happens. If I release any of the keys, the green light goes on briefly and the fan goes off . One exception: If I only release the fn key, keeping the other three depressed, the fan stays on and the green light flashes rapidly on and off, but verydimly and with a clicking sound! As soon as I re-press the fn key, the flashing and clicking stop and the fan stays on. Does all this fan activity indicate that the power supply is really working, or could it just be running off of residual power in the battery? If it might still be a power supply problem, I'll try to find another powerbook around to test the supply with. Anybody know what PB models use the same power supply? Anybody who lives in or near Berkeley, California have one I could try it with? -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
