since mce has been kind enough to state the output voltage and current (something
apple kept a mystery to make things difficult), you could probably get the same thing
for half the mce price from digikey.com assuming you can determine the size of the
adapter (it's in mm, but with a good ruler, calipers, or by dragging it into radio
shack and comparing it to their replacements you should be able to determine the
size). there is still a question of polarity, but that may be marked on the powerbook
or adapter, or could be determined with a meter, the ground (whether the post or the
spring finger) should be the same ground as on any of the connectors on the back or
any exposed metal on the back of the power book, or you could check the battery
polarity, and test between where the battery minus goes and the power jack, QED.

"There are reminders to all Americans that they need to watch what they say, watch
what they do, and this is not a time for remarks like that; there never is." White
House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, how much blood will it take to win back the first
amendment, which the Bush administration clearly does not support! The thought police
are amongst us.
