Hello,

I was recently looking for a case to carry my Powerbook 520c. I didn't
want or need anything fancy, just something that would protect the
Powerbook a bit when I tote it around. I was in our local Fred Meyer store
(one of those general everything stores) when I saw one a zippered 3-ring
binder. This one wasn't a squared off thing, it was more of a rounded
rectangle, like a pillow. It looked like it would be about the right size
to house my PB if I pulled out the 3-ring binder part. And it was on sale
for $4 (marked down from $7). So I bought it and lugged it home. Thirty
seconds worth of work with a drill took out the two rivets that held the
metal binder part in place. Once the binder was removed, the Powerbook fit
in fine. So if you're looking for a cheap case and you're a little bit
handy, you might want to take a look in the school supplies section of
your local discount store.
