Hi list,

I just brought a 5300c back into use after being stored since early 2001.

Naturally the battery was flat, and even after an overnight charge
it's still flat. I tried BatteryAmnesia but it errors and quits -
probably won't work when the power is plugged in, and obviously won't
work without any power at all!

Question: Is this just a case of needing a new rechargeable battery,
or could the internal battery be flat and be affecting the start up
process (something I seem to remember from the depths of time)?
Anyone know a source of cheap batteries?

Secondly, the click button is mechanically damaged (that's why it got
put away). If I could pop the case I'm sure I could fix it. Is there
a diagram or instructions anywhere to show me how to do that?
