The mouse button on the 3400 is none of the dumbest peices of engineering I
have ever been sorry to witness - not since the American Motors Matador
anyway! When the first one that broke, I went to an Apple repair agency (no
longer doing PB's, they all have to go to Tokyo now) and had it fixed for
the cost of the part. The replacement part was not expensive. The second
one I easily installed myself. Any mouth-breathing fool can see that the
combination of the construction and the material will not support anything
but the lightest touch, and then over time perhaps not even that! My wife
has an ancient NEC that is a brick incomparison the creaking case of the
3400, but I would not want to use it. My advice is, keep the glue idea, but
stock up on replacements! - Lorne
