I just swapped drives between a 5300 and G3 (more or less a 3400, considerably more than less). It's basically a matter of disconnecting the power supply, removing the battery, expansion drive, keyboard, clutch covers, palm rest and finally the drive assembly. Fortunately the G3 uses the bottom drive mounting holes instead of the side. The 5300 uses the side holes and the 20G drive I had in there had a different hole pattern than the carrier. But either style of drive fit the G3's drive frame as the had the same bottom pattern. I'd say go slow and don't force anything. The memory card may interfere slightly with the left clutch cover. Either pull the memory or just be careful working the clutch cover around it. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
