Ed, You might try cleaning any foreign or unknown (to you) contextual menu plug-ins out the Contextual Menu Items folder in the System Folder, or cleaning the corresponding prefs out...
Other than that, the best fix for any computer you get from a 3rd party is a clean install of the OS.
