Like the man said, manufacturers have a knack of requiring a certain *model*
Macintosh when they really mean the Mac must have certain *features*.

In this case, they most likely mean "a Macintosh running Mac OS 9 or greater
and equipped with a USB port."

So if you have a USB PC-Card and Mac OS 9 on your 3400, I doubt it will
refuse to work.
