Marty -- do you really not have enough RAM to run the application? If so you can try closing other open apps but may have to buy some more. But maybe all you need to do is assign a larger chunk to the program that wants it: click its icon, do "Get Info," select "Memory" from the list, and type a larger number in the "Preferred Size" box.
