Mmm, no but when I was having this (or a similar) problem it was with two
different NuBus PPCs (8100/100, 6100/66) and during completely fresh
installs. Yeah, I trashed every pref known to mankind.

The next thing I tried was the version that came with 9.04, which won't
run under 9.1.

I hadn't really heard of 9.1's Startup Disk cp not working with NuBus
Macs, so my next bogey was the ancient hard drive that I think was
common to both installs. But I never got around to testing that.

Good to know now the cp from 9.2.1 will work under a 9.1 system. That
seems the best answer.
