What does 'Connect Via' show in the TCP/IP control Panel? It should say Ethernet, or PCMCIA Ethernet or something like that, and there should a dropdown menu right under that marked Configure: one option is 'Automatically using DHCP server'. If it says MacIP, you're likely missing the Dayna drivers for the card...ISTR the Dayna drivers are available buried on Intel's site.
