If recording is all you are looking for, I agree that Coaster is a very fine app. And it's free. >I don't think my Cubase will because it came free with the Soundblaster card >I bought. >It searches for the SB Live card and if it doesn't find it it wont install. Er, I don't understand. Are you referring to a PC version of Cubase? You couldn't install that on a Mac anyway. FWIW, there aren't any SB cards for PowerBooks, so the Mac version of Cubase won't be expecting to FIND a SB card. If you are trying to use a version that was bundled with the PowerMac SB Live card that was released a while back, well, then I guess you are out of luck there. Just in case you didn't know, though, there IS a Cubase for Mac OS that should run fine on your PowerBook. <http://www.cubase.com> (not free) Then there's SoundEdit 16 (I haven't heard much about this app lately, but it might fit the bill). <http://www.macromedia.com/software/sound/> (not free) How about Digidesign's Pro Tools? There's a free version: <http://www.digidesign.com/ptfree/> Peace, Drew -- <http://homepage.mac.com/alk/> "There are of course many problems connected with life, of which some of the most popular are `Why are people born?' `Why do they die?' `Why do they spend so much of the intervening time wearing digital watches?'" -- Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
