What OS are you using? VPC 2.x won't run on the newer ones. (above 8.1 if
memory serves) I seem to remember something about VPC versions and G3
compatibility as well as some issues with bus speed timing within VPC. I went
to VPC 5/ME when I upgraded and run with only the normal Windoze problems.
Anyone remember where the VPC FAQ pertaining to these was located?

You might try optimizing the hard drive (VPC/Windoze hate fragmentation) and
allocate more real RAM to VPC. (It will run very slowly and I noticed many more
problems when using VM.) I'd recommend upgrading the RAM to its 64 Meg max.
