I have no idea why I was confused ... same card with twenty different names  
;-)  I appreciate the info and will most definately check out ClassicStumbler 
when I get things going. It'll be the end of the week (at least) before I get 
all the pieces and parts, so I may even get to try the new version.

<< FWIW, the AirPort card (not the new AirPort Extreme, though) IS the 

WaveLAN silver in a new box and rebranded by Apple.  The WaveLAN 

silver is made by Lucent Technologies.  Newer cards are made by one 

of Lucent's subsidiaries (but it's still Lucent).  Lucent, Avaya, 

Agere, and Orinoco are some of the names of the companies that have 

manufactured the card.  In addition to Apple, there are various 3rd 

party re-branders out there including 3Com and Dell. >>
