Harddisk power tends to stay constant and doesn't increase with size. It can't, if it did the drive would cook itself. Anyone saying that doesn't know their stuff. Power does vary some from drive to drive but a larger harddisk could take more power or it could take less. With PowerBook drives I wouldn't worry about it, there isn't much variation in drive power. I have a PowerBook G3 which is basically a 3400 and am running a 20Gb drive in it. There is an issue with some PowerBooks which require that the OS be loaded in the first 8G of the HD.
