I have a 1400c/166 that I've upgraded with a NewerTech 250MHz/1M upgrade processor... until recently, when the PowerBook started to refuse to start with the G3 processor (it just clicks slightly from the speaker when I push the power-on button but nothing happens) so I've had to revert to the 166MHz 603e (how do you spell molasses?).
Has anyone else had similar problems? Could it have something to do with a bad PRAM battery? As of now, even with the old processor the Finder crashes on startup but restarts and there are no problems to run any programs (other than that it is SLOW - running 8.6) I've tried all sorts of tricks so reset the powermanager and all that - no results.
