I re=enabled Apple Enet with no success. As I recall it replaces the
older "built-in" pieces, and with my stock install didn't have the
"built-in" extension present anyway. I just re-checked with the 9.1
installer and verified that Apple Built-in Ethernet is not used for a
3400c (neat that the 9.1 installer will show you what should be present
for a Recommended Installation when you choose Custom. Wish the older
OSes would also.) And as you say, it isn't needed anyway.

I had upgraded to Open Transport 2.7.6, so I stepped back to 2.7.4 with
no change.

You mentioned EtherTalk Phase 2 2.5.7. Never saw it in the installer
application in the Network/Ethernet part so assumed it was part of Core
Software install. It apparently wasn't because it wasn't on the hard
drive, so I added it. No change still.

Next up are two other extensions I found with Tome Viewer in the
installation file on the CD: Apple Enet DLPI Support 1.0 and Enet
ShimLib 1.4.6. So in they go, and no change.

My next experiment is the 5300 which has on it 7.6.1. I don't have
enough RAM to test a newer OS on it, but I'm just spinning my wheels
anyway of course.

P.S. I'd still be interested to know how critical OT 2.7.4 vs 2.7.6 is,
the necessity of EtherTalk Phase 2, or even Apple Enet DLPI Support and
Enet ShimLib.
