The differences between the 3400/G3 seem to be (besides hard/CD drives,
modem, and some no longer needed 3400 parts.) different logic, power
supply, IR  boards, fan assembly, bottom case and battery. It would
probably be cheaper to buy a G3 PB than to do the upgrade, but if a G3
with a bad display were found?
