Any IDE 2.5" drive will fit as long as it is no more than 12.5 mm thick. (There
are lots of 14mm drives floating around, but they don't allow the keyboard to
fit back into the case.) The bracket may not align to mount some drives, but
the space is tight enough that it isn't needed. (I have a 9 Gig, 9mm thick
drive in one of my 1400s that won't allow the bracket's screws to be used, but
it stays in position with no bracket attached.) Remember that some of the older
systems wouldn't recognize a partition larger than 2 Gig. (I don't remember the
exact cut off OS version, but it seems to me it was back in the 7xx range.) A
larger drive can still be used, but it must be partitioned to multiple 2 Gig or
smaller partitions.
