Well, there are a number of PPC upgraded BlackBirds popping up on eBay and similar so scavenging a CPU from an otherwise dead unit is not cost-prohibitive. As regards to "worthiness" of this upgrade all I can say that I doubt that a 1 GHz TiBook will perform well in 9 years (which is how old my unit is).
