Greetings All:
I'd like a deep discussion on the ramifications of the
proliferation of Honda's low key but very $$ Asimo ads.
Obviously Honda plans to be a major player in the android --
not just robotics -- market.
The question is: Has Asimo technology already rendered other
contenders obsolete and should potential rivals glean Asimo
technology.
What specific market niches will the first consumer Asimo cater to?
Despite the noble ADA goals of robotics hobbyists such as the
Valerie Project, such endeavors in the U.S. always fall short. Why?
Are U.S. engineering grads even interested in the ADA market?
Is the Asimo in the ad the basic design of the consumer
model? Will it evolve into a true humanoid model?
What does Asimo currently lack that prevents it from being
marketable today?
What lessons of the early Androbot and Heathkit bots can
Asimo learn from?
Considering that Honda spent 17 years and hundreds of
millions of dollars on Asimo, what chance does a competitor, much
less a start-up, have in breaking into the ADA market?
What rival technologies or tech models can a rival use against Honda?
Is a U.S. robotics hobbyist combine/joint venture in creating
a new ADA company the best way of countering Honda's lead?
What can we expect from Honda in two years time on the android front?
How far advanced you think Honda's top secret Asimo R&D has progressed?
