Does your SCSI adapter have a switch ? If so, try it in the other position. One
position is to use external SCSI devices and the other is for connecting a PB to
a desktop Mac so that the PB is recognized as an additional hard drive. (A form
of networking available with some PBs.) On mine, it is called the SCSI Dock
switch and the "OFF" position is used with external SCSI devices. Be advised
that sometimes the adapter doesn't sit tightly into the PB and needs to be
shimmed up to make proper contact. Put something of proper height under the
adapter so that it fits straight into the slot. Using the HDI 30 wasn't one of
Apple's better ideas. I've also found adapters with bent or broken pins. It
should have 30 pins (6 rows of 5) You might also try a different external device
to make sure the adapter works. (The green light being on doesn't always mean
the adapter is working properly.) An external hard drive works well for testing
if you have one available.
