I've got a 1400/117 I'm trying to resurrect... When I plug in the PowerBook 1400, the green light on the upper-right of the screen sort of blinks, once a minute, and the speaker chirps once a second in synch with the light.
If I hold in the Power manager reset button on the back, the speaker chirping gets louder, and the screen flashes once a second, all in synch. The screen flash is dim enough that it's hard to see unless the screen is shaded or the lights in the room are off. Removed the RAM modules one at a time, no difference. Replaced the PRAM battery, no difference. Doing a command-control-powerkey makes no difference, nothing starts up. Any ideas of what to try next? This is not a critical machine for me, so I don't want to drop much money into it, but I'd like to get it going if possible. thanks. Bob -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
