Concerning the degradation of the LCD, I believe you must sleep the PB for an extended period for it to "fix". I recall that in the PowerBook control panel, on my PB100 running 6.0.8L, if you choose "Never Sleep" it warns you of possible LCD problems and goes on to tell you that it should sleep to fix those problems. I'd suggest that you sleep the PB for at least 24 hours then see if it gets any better.
Concerning the power button, that's a very good question. I have three Blackbird PowerBooks. One PB520 has a triangle power key. The other 520 has the "circle and line" power key. My PB540c has the triangle power key. Just my USD$0.02 Also, why, on the PB500s (and more? I'm unfamiliar with newer than the 500 series) is the sound in (microphone) port marked with the odd "circle/double triangle" icon instead of the one recognizable as a mic? Because it's stereo? Is it stereo input? --------------------------------------------------- Alan O'Neil. Mailed from my Quadra 605: FeetsMac!!! My dual-monitor Mac IIci cost over $8,000 new!
