You may have the wrong RAM module. 5300 came with 8 or 16mb onboard. I think
you can install the 56mb on a 5300 that has only 8mb onboard taking it to a
total of 64mb. If the MB has 16mb onboard, you can only install the 48mb
module, taking it to 64mb. Check out memoryx.com for specs as to which RAM
modules go in which 5300 machines. You can probably upgrade that machine
with a 48mb module which should still be available, although not cheap.
