I have one of those too. It is a 2400 baud modem. Yes, 2.4kbps.
Really, really old. A cheap modem that came with some Performas in the
early 1990s. Don't expect to get anything useful out of it, except
maybe email or newsgroups. WWW is out of the question. Most ISPs
won't allow you to connect at that speed.

I would use it with a PB 5300cs only under dire circumstances; just about any internal modem is better. I keep mine in my carrying case side-by-side with an external GV Teleport Platinum (external 28.8) for my PB170. The only really good thing about the old Bronze is that it draws its power from the ADB port, and if I can get to a phone line and no AC outlet, at least I could get my e-mail. With the volume of mail I get, that's pushing it. I set up NewsWatcher with it, and it was a laugh. Took an hour to get the full list of newsgroups for my PB170.

Maybe usefull for a direct modem-to-modem connection for an older
game or something. Sorry about the rambling, I am trying to think
of something useful to do with mine (other than paperweight).

Yeah, ZTerm. And I'll bet someone on the Swaplist would want it.
