I've got an Orinoco card and am using it with a Netgear wireless router and have been out in my back yard with it at the signal strength was fine. That was probably about a distance of 50-60 feet. I've not tried going farther but I probably could have.
I'd suggest looking at relocating your SMC to another location. Perhaps something is causing problems nearby? Get it higher, move it away from any other electronics, large metal objects, etc. See what the signal strength is when you're just a few feet from the SMC. Maybe it's not transmitting well. You might also be getting interference from a neighbor's wireless unit. Try a different channel. -tom > ---------- > From: Jim November > Reply To: PowerBooks > Subject: Orinoco Antenna? > > > I have my wired/wireless network up and running.
