Hey List!

I have a PB 1400 upgraded with a Sonnet G3. It has 64 MB of memmory and is running system 9.1.

I hooked up a scan converter to the video out to try running video mirroring on a TV. The scan converter indicates that it is not getting any signal. The TV screen is blank.

I borrowed the scan converter from a from a friend in the video biz that uses it with Macs frequently. We tried two of them, so I have a high degree of confidence that the scan converter is not the problem.

The Powerbook Display control panel has the buttons dimmed, and the message "Video mirroring cannot be turned on now" (hows that for a helpful message?).

I checked the extensions manager, and there aren't any extensions turned off. I tried changing the color depth in the monitors control panel. I restarted it several times, checked connections... all the usual suspects.

Any ideas?

Is video out standard on the 1400? if not, and the option is not installed, would there be a video connector on the back? Would the G3 upgrade get in the way?

I *think* that I once successfully hooked it up to a monitor (I can't be sure) before I installed 9.1. Might I have missed some software componant in the upgrade?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the great info given out daily that helps lurkers as well as those asking the questions!

Hutch
