What is the trick to inputting line audio? Do I need to find the > stretch plugs and make my own (female regular mini) to (male elongated) pigtail? And > if so, where are these plugs? My RadioShack guy shrugged his shoulders. Apple's mic is referred to as a PlainTalk microphone. The microphone itself includes a standard microphone element and a small amplifier to boost the mic signal to line level. Power for the amp is supplied on the additional section of the plug. A while back there was a lot of interest in building an adapter for a regular mic by taking a PlainTalk mic and replacing the microphone element with an appropriate jack (definately available at Radio Shack).
