I had 7 running on my 1400/G3/60 Meg +VM for 128 Meg with no problems. I took it out as 4.75 works much smoother and better for most things. (I had to download the 7 installer a couple of times before I could get it to install properly.)
There are a few sites that won't work with 4.x anymore and many older sites that don't open properly in 7! For some reason 7 (and Mozilla, on which it is based) have problems with older frames .html code. An example is my company web site. It opens in any other browser as a split screen, but in 7 opens with the right side blank and opens the right side frames as a new page when the links on the left frame are clicked.) For the sites that don't work with 4.7x I use iCab. ( I use the free 2.9.1 version. Very small memory use and fast site navigation.) Seems to open anything 7 (or IE) does except email, which is why I still use 4.7x.
