When I still had my PB 140, I went on to ebay and got a SCSI to Ethernet
adapter. You install the software that lets the PB (or other Mac--I have
one on a LCII at one of my jobs) recognize the SCSI port as a valid
ethernet port, plug the EN/SC into the SCSI port, and plug the ethernet
cord into the unit. It's a bit slow, but it does work. I've used the
setup on several different ethernet networks with little to no problems.
You'll need MacTCP I believe, as well as making sure AppleTalk is turned
on--at least I did. :)

A little setup work, but it should take care of the problem for you.
