Hi, Does this exist? "Patched version of Apple Drive Set-up for non-Apple IDE drives"? I have a 160 Meg HDD for my 3400 that is branded as Seagate (Compaq) ST9190AG. This drive boots rather well with OS 8.1. Another Compaq drive doesn't boot; any version of Apple formatting app (Drive Set-up) has the same warning: "this drive has protected drivers, but can still be initialized". The model# is ST9816AG.
