Re: 180C and Duo

For the duo, all you need is a power adapter, no dock.  Search for a 
duo power adapter on ebay, they have lots.  You should look this up, 
but I think even the new ibook yoyo ac adapters should work on the 
duos, they just provide more power.  As for the 180c, it sounds like 
a fried motherboard.  I had a 230 that made the startup chime but had 
a blank screen and the motherboard was fried.  If you have a 180c 
with a broken screen, the screen could help :)

Part of our work involves recycling and redonating machines to needy areas.
We have been donated a Powerbook Duo 230 and a Powerbook 180C.which we would
like to check over.
Some questions for the group if you can help us?
1. The 180C screen lights up - single tone issued but nothing else- blank
but lit screen. The floppy doesnt turn on either - seems power's only going
to the screen?? Tried SCSI attachments to Power Mac-drive not recognised
(no surprise but worth a try!)Any ideas as to what may be wrong or what to
look for. We
have had a look inside and it appears to be all there (including a non-apple
RAM upgrade) - so it may be worth sorting it out.
Secondly, a sillyish question.Do we need a duo dock to operate the duo. It
came minus any batteries or mains adapters. How to get it operating?
