Andrew Wiens <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> asked: > is a 280 b/w screen compatible in a 230?
I replied: >>Yes, but will require a screen cable from 250 (250 and 280 LCDs are >>functionally identical.) Of course a complete 250 can be had for similar >>money to just a cable. Good use of a broken-screen 250's bits though. then Mad Dog asked: >Are you sure about that ? I knew the 250/280s which with the cable, >but I never heard of the 230/280 swap. Duos 230 and 250 have identical mobos, 210 is nearly identical, slower processor though. 250 and 280 LCDs are near-enough identical, but the cables are different. So a 250 LCD works in 280 with 280 cable, 280 LCD works in 210/230/250 with 250 cable. 210/230 LCD in a 270/280? 'Fraid not, as no cable exists with a 210/230 LCD end + a 270/280 logic board end. >And if the 280/230 works, then the 280c should work, although there >isnt enough VRAM to drive the screen very well. Nope, _won't_ work (as Vicki D apparently can attest.) The video circuit doesn't know about color LCDs. Read the original Duo devnote for more details about the original Duo video controller. _Plus_ AFAIK no cable exists to connect _any_ Duo color LCD to a 210/230/250 LB. Hmm, how the heck did you actually do that anyway Vicki??!!??
