All I can say is have patience and watch eBay and the LEM Swap list.  I
bought one for each of my 1400s and never paid more than $50. Speed isn't
that important on the 1400, so you can use either speed drive. (6x or 8x)
Usually the price is lower if the drive front cover is coming off or
missing. (very common problem) This doesn't create any operation problems.
It is primarily cosmetic and replacement pieces are available if you
absolutely want one.
